Monster Island was the Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster and it was released in the same period as Godzilla King of the Monsters. The film tells the story of an island named after the island, where a monster lives.


Because the budget for this asylum film is so low (about the equivalent of a large children’s meal), they chose to shoot only a few scenes and all of the key moments with the cast's A-listers during lunch. The Asylum might not (Monster Island (2019) bad movie review) be too bad considering this is a film about kaiju.
